The Crisis Center for South Suburbia

The Crisis Center for South Suburbia has been providing hope and services to victims of domestic violence for over 45 years through housing, counseling, advocacy, outreach and prevention programs. The Crisis Center for South Suburbia envisions a community where domestic violence is not tolerated; where all people are safe. The Crisis Center works toward that vision through direct services to victims, through advocacy with systems in the community, by raising awareness through education and by holding abusers accountable.

Flossmoor Fire Department

The Flossmoor Fire Department was organized and chartered in 1928. The fire department provides a myriad of services including: Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Fire Prevention, Fire Inspection, and Specialized Rescue services. Department staffing is comprised of full-time, contract, part-time and paid-on-call personnel who respond to more than 1,500 calls for service annually.

Homewood Science Center

Homewood Science Center is a nonprofit community science center founded in 2016 to serve Chicago’s culturally and economically diverse south suburbs. Our mission is to inspire scientific wonder, learning, and pursuit. We work with educators, STEM professionals, and partner organizations to increase STEM literacy and foster diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM, so all area students can gain the skills and confidence they need to fully enjoy and contribute to the civic and commercial vibrancy of our region. Through our programs and events, Homewood Science Center is working to improve STEM literacy; close the STEM achievement gap for female, minority, and low-income students; and increase economic mobility.

Special Olympics Illinois

Special Olympics is a global sports movement to end discrimination against people with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Those activities give them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship.
